Amazon Unionizing

- Multiple Amazon warehouses are unionizing… Amazon gave a $1.50 raise to everyone to try to stop employees from forming a union.
- Amazon stated that “this is largest total compensation investment we’ve made for the U.S. Ops network in Amazon’s history”
- If they’re giving $1.50 to prevent workers from unionizing, imagine how much workers could actually earn if they had a union.
ILA Dockworker Contract

GM Worker Contract

- 1000 GM workers at a battery plant negotiated for a 35% raise
- The $20 starting pay will immediately increase to $27.72
UPS Union Contract

- The Teamsters Union successfully negotiated a great contract with UPS. Full and Part Time UPS workers will get $2.75 more per hour in 2023. Over the length of the 5 year contract, wage increase will total $7.50/hour. The minimum pay for any part-time worker at UPS will be $21/hour. This would increase to $25.75 over the 5 year contract. This will be a 48% wage increase for part time workers. The average wage for a UPS full-time employee will be $49/hour. The union also negotiated UPS to put A/C in all delivery vehicles. They also added Martin Luther King Day as a holiday. No more forced over time was added into the contract too.
- Full-time UPS package car driver make an average of $95,000 a year + $50,000 in contributions to health, welfare, and pension benefits. This amount will increase to $170,000 towards the end of the 5-year contract. And then the Teamsters will negotiate another contract while evaluating the economy and considering how much value the average employee creates for UPS.
UAW-Ford Union Contract

- The United Auto Workers (UAW) Union approved a contract with Ford that will include a pay increase of at least 30%.
- This could give workers an EXTRA $70,000 in pay over the 4.5 year contract.
- This contract will MORE THAN DOUBLE the pay for temporary workers.
- If Ford wants to “buyout” older workers who make top-tier pay, they would need to pay them $50,000 to force them to retire.
